When we talk about the price of cigarettes in the city of Rio de Janeiro, it is important to note that there is a big difference in price between imported cigarettes and cigarettes from domestic producers. If you smoke, say, Marlboro cigarettes, one pack of 20 cigarettes will cost you from 2.3 USD to 2.5 USD. The prices of other imported cigarettes are similar, where you will not be able to find a pack of 20 cigarettes for a price that is less than 2 USD. Certainly, this price is drastically lower than in any other country in Europe.
However, if you opt for domestic production, the prices are drastically lower, i.e. for one pack of cigarettes the prices are from 0.5 USD to 0.90 USD, which makes Brazilian cigarettes one of the cheapest in the world.
