This page is dedicated to all tourist attractions of the Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. Apart from beautiful coastal town Stresa, there are also numerous castles and archeological sites and incredible islands that enrich the tourist offer of the Lake Maggiore. Since there is not a large number of such locations, we decided to put them all in one category under the cumulative name - Attractions. Some of the islands and villas of the lake are so beautiful that will inspire the imagination of most visitors. There are also numerous incredible gardens, made in Italian and English style that will take your breath away.
Fishermen’s Island or also called Isola dei Pescatori has the most northern position compared to the other islands of the gulf, and it is certainly the most picturesque of the Borromean Islands, as well as the only one to be permanently inhabited. Fishermen’s island is a small and ancient village characterized by the narrow alleys between houses with long balconies used for drying fish; the inhabitants of the island live, in fact, mainly of fishing and tourism.
