Park Zaryadye

Zaryadye Park, a city park in Moscow, opened its gates in 2017. It is situated on the left bank of the Moskva river, not far from the Red Square, and it gets its name from the name of the historical neighbourhood it is located in. The park is a massive project that was celebrated when it was constructed and opened, but many problems arose during its construction. After the Russian government announced the demolition of the “Russia“ hotel in 2004, a contest was started to figure out what would be built at the spot.

Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure is a central park named after the famous Russian writer Maxim Gorky. It encompasses an amazing area in the very center of Moscow, it is highly visited and we can say that it is adored by the people of Moscow. The park, which was first opened in 1928, was done according to the design of architect Konstantin Melnikov. It spreads over an area of 220 hectares, and visitors can enjoy numerous gardens, lagoons, areas dedicated to sport and recreation, museums and restaurants. This is definitely not an ordinary park.

The Arbat Street, also known as the Old Arbat to distinguish itself from the new Arbat Street, is one of the oldest original streets in the Russian capital. There used to be many trade shops, bakeries and jewelry stores along the street. According to one story, the word “Arbat” comes from the Arab word “arbad”, which means “suburb”. At the time, the city center was inside the walls of the Kremlin, and this area was considered to be a suburb of Moscow. The Arbat area changed during previous centuries. Although this was the place where the simplest tradesmen’s stores opened, the area became famous among the aristocracy of the 18th century. Many famous noble families built houses in the area.

The Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro is notable for many reasons: it is the fifth most frequented metro, just behind metros in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul, and is officially the most beautiful metro of the world due to the realization of design ideas of individual stations which display artwork in the style of realism. The first metro line was opened on the 15th May 1935, with many stations changing names, some of them being renamed several times. The Moscow metro system consists of 17 lines.
