Venice is famous for its annual events. Two of the most well-known ones are the Venetian Carnival and Venetian Regatta. The fame of the Venetian Carnival and its masks reached all corners of the world, making it one of the most talked-about carnivals in the world. On the other hand, Venetian Regatta was so popular that the actual world regatta that entered most of the European languages originates from Venice.
The carnival in Venice is an annual event that lasts for about 18 days. The beginning and the end of the carnival are strictly correlated to the religious calendar which means it is not organized every year on the same date and that for most people these dates stay a mystery.
The regatta in Venice is one of three most important events in the city. After Venetian Carnival and Venetian Film Festival, it is the most well-known event among tourist and locals. It consists of a historical parade followed by races in different categories, which attract large numbers of tourists each year.
