How to reach Botanical garden in Funchal
Even though Botanical garden in Funchal is located just a few kilometers from the center of Funchal, be aware that you cannot reach it on foot. Since Madeira is a volcanic island, the slopes of the whole island are extremely steep, therefore these few kilometers of distance would be a huge undertaking.
In order to reach the gardens you will have 3 options.
To reach it by car- There is a large parking in front of the entrance which is reserved for the visitors and is free of charge.
To reach it by bus-If you decide to visit the botanical garden by bus, you may choose between one of these bus line: 29, 30, 31 and 31A. When in Funchal, ask around (in your hotel or accommodation) where the closest bus stop of one of these lines is.
To reach it by cable car- This is a convenient way, but extremely expensive. The price of a ride together with the ticket for the gardens is around 30€. If you are traveling with your family the cost of visiting the botanical garden easily amounts to a cost of renting a car for a few days.
The cable car stop is in the center of Funchal, close to the ocean.

Reduced ticket price (individuals from 15 to 18 years old) is 26.75 Euros (€).
Reduced ticket price (individuals from 7 to 14 years old) is 14.95 Euros (€).
