Kos Island:

Agios Stefanos Beach in Kos

Agios Stefanos Beach in Kos

Agios Stefanos beach on the island of Kos is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island and probably the most photographed one. It is a long sandy beach that offers an opportunity to its visitors to enjoy the view on the small island of Kastri that blocks the view to the open see and the possibility to go for a stroll through the ruins of an ancient Christian Church which is located right on the beach right next to the seawater.

We certainly recommend visiting Agios Stefanos Beach on the island of Kos. It is a nice around 3 kilometer long sandy beach where visitors may opt for numerous sunbeds for rent or look for  less crowded parts of the beach to enjoy the view, possibly have a picnic and relax.
One of the interesting things you can do is to swim to the island of Kastri and visit the very small chapel of St. Nicholas which adorns this 50 meter long island. The waters between the island and the beach are shallow, which means the whole experience is a bit of swimming and a bit of walking on the seabed, nevertheless we recommend this activity only to the  physically fit enough able to reach the island without tiring too much. In order to walk on the island we also recommend bringing a pair of flip flops or sandals.
