Petrin Tower or in Czech language Petřín Tower is a tower that overlooks the city of Prague. This tower is perched on a hilltop surrounded by a wide park which makes it a perfect sight for those that would enjoy a pleasant walk. Moreover, the view from the top of the tower is certainly one of the best that you will experience in Prague.
Petřín Tower in Prague is located on the Petřín hill in Prague. The tower was built for the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891, as a more modest copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It became one of most popular tourist attractions of the city of Prague due to the impressive view from the top of the tower and due to its location – it is surrounded by a beautiful park.
The tower was used as an observation tower till 1953, when the antenna for the TV signal was installed on the tower changing its purpose. Petřín Tower emitted TV signal till 1992, when it was decided to build a new tower for this purpose. In 2000, the reconstruction work started with the aim of bringing it to its original state as much as possible.
