Rio de Janeiro:

The Red Beach

The Red Beach

Red Beach or Vermelha Beach is one of the smallest beaches in the city of Rio but it is definitely one of the most beautiful. Red beach is located near the hill Urca. It is a small beach, but regardless of that, it is extremely appreciated because of its beautiful surroundings, because it is located between the Sugarloaf and Babylon hills. The beach is only a few hundred meters away from the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain, i.e. the cable car, and we definitely advise you to visit it when you come down from the mountain.

What is interesting is that the beach is nicely tucked away and there are no crowds that you will find on Copacabana or Ipanema.

You should also keep in mind that a military base is nearby and that the beach itself is well guarded and you are completely safe on it. The atmosphere on the beach is quite calm, especially on weekdays when you won’t see almost anyone there.

Not to mention the view, as well as the amazing color of the water. This is definitely a place you must visit.
