Saint Jakov Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of Dubrovnik, is located in the city’s east side, in a small uvala which offers visitors a magnificent view of Lokrum and the historical district of the town. As it is about a kilometer away from the city center, it can be reached on foot, or by taking the 8 or 5 buses to the spot. The bus station where you should enter the bus is called Krešimir 1, which is located around 520m away from Stradun. You ride for three stops, exiting at the Zlatni Potok station, which is around 700m away from the beach itself. When you reach the Church of Saint Jakov, which is situated at the top of a cliff, take the steps behind the church which will take you straight to the beach.
Tito’s Villa Beach – This beach is a sand-stone surface beach named after Josip Broz Tito. The beach is located just next to his villa, and was once off-limits to the public. Although the beach doesn’t offer much content, it is still popular among visitors, who visit it mostly because they want to swim where Tito had once swum. The best way to reach the beach is by taxi or by bus. If you opt for the bus, get on bus number 4 at the Pile station which is 320m away from the historical district (Stradun), take 12 stations and exit at the Masaryk 3 station. After this, walk the final 220m and you are at the beach
Banje is another gem located in close proximity to the historical district. This beach is among the most famous beaches in south Dalmatia. As well as the whole historical district, the beach can only be reached on foot, but it is only 610m away from the Old Town. Banje beach offers many activities, including paragliding, jet ski, and many more. The beach offers a spectacular view of the historical district.
Buža is a great place for afternoon relaxation, being that it is a beach with a beach bar, excellent music and a very interesting selection of cocktails on offer. The south part of the beach is where the Gate of Saint Stjepan is located, which is the gate that leads to this wonderful stone-surface beach. The beach can only be reached on foot, but it is only 460m away from Stradun.
Šulić Beach will be particularly attractive to fans of the Game of Thrones franchise, being that it is one of the more famous locations that were used for the filming of the show. The beach has a stone surface, but the approach to the sea is covered in sand. It is located just beneath the famous Lovrijenac fortress in Pile, and its hidden nature makes it great for those who want to escape the crowd of tourists that flock to the city during the summer. The beach can only be reached on foot, and it is located just next to the Old Town, around 660m away from Stradun and some 330m from the Pile station.
