Le Bon Marché shopping mall in Paris - In 1838, two brothers from Videau family, founded a store that sold small home utensils. Seven years later, they entered into a business venture with Mr. Bouciciut, who had the idea of creating the first store dedicated to women and their fashion necessities.
Galeries Lafayette - In 1895, Theophile Bader and Alphons Kahn opened a small haberdasher’s shop at the corner of La Fazette Street in Paris. They built up the image of their store with great patience and perseverence and expanded their business. In 1896, their company bought the entire building at 1 , La Fazette Street. In 1905, they managed to further expand their capacities, and this point they engaged famous architect Georges Chedanne to do the interior decoration of the shopping center.
This charming shopping center is one of the favorite destination of Parisians and tourists. It was once a small shop owned and run by a distinguished businessman, Xavier Ruel, who wanted to run his own fashion business in ’the city of lights’. Namely, he opened a women lingerie shop in one of the loveliest streets of Paris, Rivoli Street. His success was incredible, and the expansion of business soon followed.
This fashion maison was created by entrepreneurs Jules Jaluzot and Jen Alfred Duclos. Their logic was very simple - to create a fashion center that would attract not only Parisians but also tourists from entire France, as the shopping center was located near the main train station.
