National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation

The National Museum of Science and Innovation also known as the Miraikan Museum is dedicated to science and technology as well as innovation. In this interactive museum you will see the latest scientific achievements as well as new trends and technological achievements of today and tomorrow. The Miraikan Museum is special in that it not only deals with the present, but also focuses on what will await us tomorrow in the field of science and technology.

The museum is interactive which means that you can personally participate in the experiments. Robotics, informatics, medicine, space research, etc. are represented in the museum. One part is also dedicated to earthquake research, which is very important for Japan, considering that it is often affected by it. Seabed exploration as well as space exploration are very popular sections.

Visitors mostly stay in the robotics department, and the famous Honda robot captures the attention of all visitors. You can see the robot every day in action at 11:00, 13:00 and 16:00. The performances last 10 minutes, which is enough time for the visitors to be delighted, especially the younger generation.
