The beaches on the Bar coast are characterized by extremely clear turquoise water. The beaches are very visited but there are also some more private ones such as the beautiful Queen's Beach which can only be reached by boat. the Utjeha beach, the Čanj beach and the Red beach are examples of the most beautiful beaches in the vicinity of the city of Bar.
The Red Beach is located in a small uvala between Bar and Sutomore and it is part of the Bar Riviera.. The beach got its name from its sand and stones, which exhibit a distinct red color on the shore as well as in the water. The beach is only 50-meters long. Even though it is small, the beach is very popular because of the color of its sand, the sea and the pine trees that surround it. The entrance to this beach is free of charge as it is classified as a ’’rogue“ beach, which means that few tourists actually know about it.
The Queen’s Beach is located between Budva and Bar. A popular destination, this beach is 1.2 kilometers long, and the area is also known as Pearl Shore. The beach itself is divided into two sections by a stone cape. Behind the beach, there is a medicinal evergreen forest, which makes this location a true paradise. Čanj is isolated from the Adriatic Highway, which means there is no noise for the visitors of the Pearl Shore. Boarding spots in Čanj are diverse, ranging from hotels and villas to private accomodation. Near the beach, there is a post office, as well as food and drink stores. It is important to note that during the tourist season, the Čanj beach is completely full. There is another beach located in the Pearl Shore called The Queen’s Beach.
The Utheja Beach is located in the Olive Tree Uvala, 14km from Bar. Along the whole beach there are old olive trees, some of them being on the beach itself. There is an influx of fresh water into the sea there, which gives the sea at the beach a nice turquoise color, but the water is slightly colder than at other beaches, which is perfect for hot summer days, when temperatures go above 35 degrees Celsius. The Utjeha Beach is covered in gravel, and there are pools and sunbaithing areas around.
