Slovenska or Slavic Beach is located right next to the walls of the historical district of Budva and is part of the Budva Riviera. This beach is actually a resort, as it offers accommodation, tennis and volleyball facilities, restaurants, cafes, as well as a 1.6km-long beach. The Slavic Beach tourist resort is host to many conferences, student field trips, as well as sporting events and festivals. The name comes from the first tourists who enjoyed the beaches 40 years ago, who happened to be from the Czech Republic.
Before it was called Slavic Beach, the spot was actually called “the beach under the field”, as there is lush greenery with parks covering an area of 16 hectares included into the beach itself. The youngest visitors of the beach can, apart from enjoying the beach, enjoy specially designed parks for children and play on the swings, slides, pools, as well as enjoy entertaining programs tailored to any child. The Slovenska plaza complex offers accommodation for over 1000 people at once, three-star and four-star rooms, with the price of bed-and-breakfast starting at €33 per person. The beach is a public one, and is connected cia a sand shoal to the adjacent Sveti Nikola Island, located right in front of the historical district. Interestingly, the Slovenska Beach receives an award in 2013 for being one of Europe’s best beaches.
