Kotor:

St Paul's Church

St Paul's Church

Saint Paul's Church is located in the street behind St. Tripun's Cathedral. Small church, hidden from the main squares, tourists often don't even know about its existence. The church was built in 1236 and is the endowment of a citizen of Kotor named Pavle Bari. On the façade there is an inscription that testifies to its construction, which also mentions Serbian King Uros I, Pope Urban IV and Bishop Marko from Kotor. First, a male Dominican monastery was erected in the church and later in the sixteenth century a female Dominican monastery. There is a cell in the church, in which the Blessed Ozan was incorporated, and died there in 1565.

The remains of a monastery dating from the 13th century can be seen below the glass floor. The church is often used as a gallery for numerous exhibitions.
