Lovers of the sea, oceans, all blue spaces and life under water do not bypass the Lisbon Oceanarium, where all kinds of marine life live. In 1998, a world exhibition called "Oceans, Heritage for the Future" was held in Lisbon, so this aquarium was opened for the needs of the exhibition and is still there today. Among the many attractions of the city, this is one of the most visited. Apart from being popular in Lisbon, it is highly valued not only in Europe but all over the world. During the year, Oceanarium records about a million visitors. It is architecturally very modern on the outside, and interesting and very instructive on the inside.
In addition to the sea world that is located there, the aquarium organizes well-attended exhibitions. This aquarium is very dedicated to education, various activities for pupils, students and scientists. Their goal is to draw people's attention to all the problems facing the aquatic world and the entire ecosystem today, as well as to preserve the environment and the marine world on a global scale. It is a favorite place for work and research of various marine biologists, who take care that our marine world stays healthy and clean for a long time.
The aquarium contains as much as 5 million liters of sea water. Hundreds of species of fish, sharks, amphibians, invertebrates, birds, mammals, sea plants and algae live in the aquarium, which are especially beautiful and interesting for science. How all these marine and some terrestrial animals live, how they feed, how they behave, how long they live and all the other interesting things can be learned in the oceanarium.
Here it is possible to celebrate a birthday, sleep with sharks, and explore the sea world during various tourist tours that are organized inside the aquarium. Even babies enjoy this aquarium, because mini baby concerts are organized for the very youngest. There are 3 types of sweet exhibitions in the aquarium: "Aquarium", "Sea Forest" and "Ocean like you have never experienced before".
Spending time in this aquarium is not a waste of it. This place is full of beauty and knowledge, and the employees of the aquarium really try to make every visitor fall in love with the sea world forever and come out of the aquarium full of knowledge for a lifetime.
Of course, the aquarium gift shop is not to be missed, for the perfect souvenir from this beautiful place.
