Since its foundation, Venice was best known for commerce. A large new luxury shopping mall has recently been opened in Venice. The historic building Fondaco dei Tedeschi was transformed in a beautiful shopping mall on three floors, while preserving most of the original architectural features combined with contemporary style, so creating an incredible ambient. Finally, on the last level of the building there are terraces with the most magnificent view, free of charge.
The most important shopping area in Venice is Calle Larga XXII Marzo. It is located near the central square of St. Marco, and here one can find shops of the Italian and international luxury brands. The date 22 March, after which the street got its name, has a great significance for Venice.
In close proximity of the Rialto Bridge starts the street Calle delle Acque that, complete with the streets of Merceria del Capitello and Merceria S. Yulian creates the most urban shopping area in Venice. Here, visitors can find brands like Max Mare, Marina Rinaldi, Bata, Pinko, Coccinelle and many others.
Nave de Vero is a large shopping mall that is located on the mainland of Venice. It is not at all known among tourist, but it offers a large selection of international and Italian brands that are all hard to find or non available in Venice.
