The Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Art History in Vienna was opened in 1801, and the permission and the initiative for its construction was given by Franz Joseph I, just like he did with other buildings with beautiful parks. This magnificent building with a big dome was built in the style of Italian Renaissance. The very location on Ring is no less important than the building itself. In this museum, you can see a collection of valuable artwork of the Habsburg dynasty. The greatest amount of artwork that are exhibited here belonged to emperors Ferdinand of Tyrol, Rudolph II and Archduke Leopold Wilhelm.

For art lovers, there are many paintings of German, Flemish and Italian Renaissance art of painting. The main building of this art history museum consists of: The Gallery of Artistic Paintings, Egyptian-Oriental collection, Antique collection, The Collection of Art Objects and Numismatic collection. Maybe even half a day is needed if you want to go through the whole museum. The very building is created of wonderful details both on the outside and the inside, which are breath-taking.

In front of the museum, there is a park with a statue of the most powerful woman of Europe, Maria Theresa, therefore, this location is, if not on the inside, but on the outside is unavoidable.
