The Pliva Lake - The first thought of those who visited the town of Jajce are Pliva Lakes. The group name for Malo and Veliko jezero originated on the river Pliva, more precisely in the valley of the river Pliva and the settlement of Jezera. It is important to emphasize that the Great Lake is located at an altitude of 424 m, is 3.3 km long and its average width is about 400 m.

The small lake has a length of 1.5 km while the average length of this lake is 150 m. Pliva Lakes are the largest natural lakes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
You used to have a desire to fish but you had no idea where to start? Both lakes are rich in various species of fish and have attracted the attention of fans of this sport for years. , grass carp, catfish and silver carp.
 
The lakes have a specific water density, so they are ideal for other water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. In 1963, the seventh European and Extraordinary World Championship in kayak and canoe on calm waters (PESK) was held on the Great Pliva Lake. By decision of the Commission on National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the site has been declared a National Monument entitled “Cultural Landscape - Pliva Lakes with a Mill Complex on the Pliva near Jajce”.

In summer, the water temperature is more than 21 ° C, which is ideal for the development of bathing tourism.

The distance of Pliva Lakes from the center of Jajce is approximately 5 km and next to the lakes there is a car camp, apartments, hotel, motel, restaurants and picnic areas.
