London:

The Shard

The Shard

The Shard is the highest uninhabited building in Europe, located in London. This skyscraper was officially opened in 2012, towering above surrounding buildings with its astonishing 310 meters in height. This building has 87 floors in total, with 72 of them being inhabitable. Most of the building is reserved for offices and restaurants, as well as a 5-star hotel, apartments and an observation deck.

The Shard contains only around 10 flats that can be moved into, and the prices of them are truly mind-blowing. A flat in this building will set you back several tens of thousands of pounds. When the skyscraper was being built, the observation deck was already intended to be very popular among tourists and locals alike, as it offers a truly spectacular view of the city. It takes up three floors of the buildings, two of which are enclosed, while the last is an open balcony, with the view reaching beyond the territory of the city of London.

The observation deck is definitely worth a visit. If you want to enjoy a romantic dinner with a spectacular view, it is important to mention that the restaurants in this establishment are very expensive. Visitors can also visit the London Eye instead of the Shard to witness a similarly spectacular view of the city.
