London buses – Buses are surely not the quickest way to go around London, but the famous double-deckers offer a unique way of discovering the streets of the town and many visitors rather enjoy the experience. The bus network is rather developed and complex, with almost 400 different routes, which can make it difficult to understand. Every bus station contains details about the buses that stop there, as well as on where they lead.
Bus ticket price per ride is £ 1.50 and it can be bought directly from the driver. It is important to note that you can’t use cash to pay for the ticket, so the only option is a contactless credit card.
Most bus lines operate between 5am and 12pm.
The main bus lines, especially those that pass through the city center, work around the clock. Many buses travel at night as well, and can be recognized by the letter N before the number that each bus carries, so, for example, the 33 bus will become the N33 bus. Bear in mind that there two bus lines may have different routes, and may stop at different bus stops during the night. These buses usually travel every 15 minutes.
