How to reach Murano Island in Venice
Murano Island is located just about two kilometers north from the historic center of Venice. It can be reached exclusively by vaporetto boats (Venetian bus boats). You can choose to visit the Murano island from Piazzale Roma (vaporetto lines 3, 4.1, 4.2), Fondamente Nove stop (lines 3, 4.1, 4.2, 12) or S. Marco-S. Zaccaria stop (4.1, 4.2), depending on where you are or which of these stops are closest to your accommodation.
It is important to mention that there is only one line that will take to Buran Island (vaporetto line 12) which you can take from the Murano Island (Faro stop- vaporetto stop next to the lighthouse of Murano). Be aware that most tourist tend to first visit the Murano Island and then the Burano Island, therefore it can happen that during the high season you need to wait even for an hour in order to board the boat for Burano.
