National Gallery building in Ljubljana fascinates with its exterior. And when the exterior is beautiful, the interior should be even more beautiful and richer. This is the central gallery of Slovenia and it houses a collection from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. This gallery has its permanent exhibition and those are the work of modern painter from the 20th century, Zoran Mušić. The permanent collection is divided by historical periods, and contains as much as 600 pieces of European and Slovenian art. Here you can see works of medieval church art, baroque works of art by Gregory Lazarini, Biedermeier portraits of Jožef Tominac, works of realists, some Slovenian artists such as Ivana Kobilica and Ivan Grohar.
There is an original fountain of three Carniolan rivers in the National Gallery, made in the Baroque style. This is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Baroque in Ljubljana. A replica of this fountain is located in front of the City Hall. The gallery has a very rich library, as well as the room "Galina" where various events are held. There is a reading and coffee corner near the library. A complete experience in this beautiful building.

Working hours of the National Gallery
From Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00, Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00.
On December 24 and 31, the Gallery is open from 10:00 to 15:00.
The dates when the Gallery is closed are: January 1, May 1, November 1 and December 25.
