The Medieval Tower

The Judgment Tower is one of the most visited medieval landmarks in Maribor. It is located in the center of the city, on the banks of the Drava River. It got its name from all the judgments that were passed in it, but it is also related to judgments related to beliefs in witches and rituals. Why is it associated with witches? In the tower, women who practiced so-called witchcraft in the past centuries were tried, and they were judged here for such acts. No death sentences were passed in the tower.

The Tito's Bridge

Tito's bridge was one of the largest in the former Yugoslavia, and it was ranked 20th in the world. The bridge was built in 1963, and the construction lasted two full years. It is located on the Drava River, and the length of the bridge is 304 meters. It was only after 9 years of construction that it was named Tito's bridge. It was named after the president of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito. Because of its importance, i.e. because of the novelty in construction at that time, it was decided to be entered in the cultural heritage register of Slovenia. The main architect of the bridge was Boris Pipan, and the company that built the bridge was from Maribor and was called Tehnogradnja.

The stadium Ljudski Vrt

Ljudski vrt Stadium is the main football stadium in Maribor. It is located along the Drava River in a part called Koroška vrata. The host of this stadium is Football Club Maribor, since 1960. During the renovation of the stands in 1961 and when the reconstruction was being done in 2008, breaks were made. The biggest renovations took place in 1994, when floodlights were installed and the wooden benches were replaced with plastic ones. Reception halls, club rooms were added in 1999.

What, in addition to greenery and the chirping of birds, adorns this park are children's playgrounds, an aquarium, and a romantic part of the park where concerts and shows are held during the summer, the so-called Pavilion. The basic shape of the park was created a long time ago, back in the Middle Ages, thanks to the ponds and the river bed.

The Botanical Garden in Maribor belongs to the University of Maribor. This place is a little paradise for socializing, relaxing and studying. Students who are familiar with the subject spend their time here, especially natural science students. The botanical garden is located on the surface of the Zamkovo park, the size of which is 8 hectares. The best time to visit is from spring to autumn. The garden is decorated with many flowers and trees, both from domestic and foreign regions. The collection of the Botanical Garden includes 100 species of daffodils and roses. The colors are diverse, it all depends on the season of the year. Perhaps it is the most beautiful in autumn.
