Visitors can take the train going to Montserrat from Barcelona. The journey time takes approx. 1 hour. Visitors will ride two trains actually. One, starting from Barcelona Plaça España station then ride a Cremallera Rack Railway at Monistrol de Montserrat station going up the Monsterrat Mountain. You will also take the same journey going back to Barcelona. From the Monastery, take the Cremallera Rack Railway going down the mountain. Then take the train going back to Barcelona Plaça España train station.
