Los Cristianos

Los Cristianos is a small town cituated at the southern shore of Tenerife. It is a very modern town mostly situated along the shore, but in recent time it has seen spreading into the inside of the island as well. The town is a popular tourist place and it has a ferry pier.

As opposed to its lively neighbor Las Américas, Los Cristianos is a historical town much older than the tourist boom that happened in the 1970s. For a long time, this town was a peaceful fisherman’s village, a fact easily visible in the town’s old houses and other buildings, built in the typical Canary style.

The city contains two sandy beaches, many bars and restaurants. Its shore is sunny all year round. Accommodation in the city is diverse, ranging from 4-star and 5-star hotels and private accommodation to apartments. Los Cristianos organizes many field trips, which include activities such as dolphin watching, fishing, deep-sea diving and many more.

The main beach, called Playa de Los Cristianos, is a sandy beach protected from the pier. This beach boasts many different venues and activities, including water sports, beach volleyball, as well as various playgrounds. The Las Vistas beach located in the nearby bay, just behind the pier, also offers many different facilites, including water sports, showers, as well as an information station for tourists. IN addition to these two beaches, the stony and black sand beach in the area of Rincón in Los Cristianos. This beach is situated between the Cape near Puerto Viejo and the Montaña Guaza Cliff.
