Globen Arena/ Ericsson Globe is a hockey arena used by Swedish national hockey team. The arena’s capacity is 13.520 people, it is 85 meters high, and its diameter is 110 meters. It is regarded as the biggest spherical building in the world. For hockey games the capacity is 13.850 people, and for concerts 16.000 people. The Arena was designed by Swedish designer Svante Berg, and The Globe City district was made around it. Visitors often come for the amazing view of Stockholm from the Globen Arena. In 2020, an elevator (SkyView) was installed for such purpose. Its capacity is 16 persons.

The arena was opened in 1989, and Metallica’s concerts (1989, 1995) hold the record for most audience – 16.531. Many music stars have performed in the Globen Arena, among whom is the musical icon Whitney Houston, who performed there twice – in 1999 and 2009. Other names who have performed there are Cher, Eminem, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga.
The arena hosted the IIHF World Championship. In 2003, when the Basketball World Cup took place in Sweden, the Globen Arena was one of the hosts. The Eurovision Song Contest was held in the Arena on two occasions, in 2000 and 2016.  Both on the inside and outside, the arena is breathtaking.
