Wynwood is Miami’s art district, it is popular because this place “never sleeps”. It is located in the urban part of Miami. There are numerous art galleries, craft shops and antique stores. It is the place of some of the biggest art installations in the world in open air. During the 1900s, Wynwood was known as an enclave with Caribbean emigrants. Until the beginning of the 21st century, this was the place of warehouses, deserted factories and old vacant apartment buildings.
Across Miami Beach in Biscayne Bay, there is a small island known as Star Island. The island is round in shape, and it expands on 0.35km2. It got its name, “Star Island”, because many Hollywood stars, majorly actors and musicians, built their homes there. It is man-made island that is connected to the land. Some of the celebrities that live there include Gloria Estefan, Rosie O’Donnell, Shaquille O’Neal, Philip Fort etc.
Bayside Marketplace is a place where shopping becomes an everlasting experience. Palm trees and a well-decorated driveway are the first things you will encounter upon coming there. Bayside Market place is a two-story open air shopping center with an emphasis on the tropical vibe. It is located downtown, with a port and greenery in its surroundings – it makes shopping like nothing you have experienced before.
Orlando Disneyland. There is not a person in the world that has not either seen or heard of Disney cartoons and the magical world where the cartoon characters have come to life – the Disneyland. Disneyland in Orlando is a 3-hour drive away from Miami. It is one of the most popular amusement parks, because it is not only for children, but it is a place where grown-ups get to be children again. There are daily trips both from Miami and the rest of Florida to Disneyland in Orlando.
One of the most beautiful and largest tropical botanic gardens on Florida is located in Miami – Fairchild. It expands on 83 hectares with extensive collections of rare tropical plants. Fairchild is a museum, laboratory, learning center, and conservation research facility whose main role is preserving biodiversity. Its goal is to share the joy and beauty of tropical gardening. It was named after the renowned plant explorer David Fairchild, who also was the founder of the Fairchild in 1938. He was a scientist, he travelled the world in search of plants which may be of use to the Americans.
