The Marjan

Marijan is the most impressive part of the city of Split. A hill overlooking the city and the highest peak of 178 meters. Marjan died on December 16, 1964. was declared a park-forest and was protected by the law of nature. It is surrounded on the north and west by the Kaštela Bay, and on the south by the Split Channel. The Marjan peninsula is connected to the mainland on the east side.

The coast is very different, with several bays and reefs. The highest peak on Mariana is called Telegrin.Marijan is a perfect place for nature lovers and sports recreation in nature. The easiest way to reach the park is by stairs called the Marian Stairs, located near the waterfront, next to the monastery and the church of St. Francis. The second entrance is called Spinut Gate and is located in the street promenade Marina Tartalje. The third option is the Ivan Meštrović promenade, a street that you must reach on foot west of the Riva.
