Bridges in Podgorica

Bridges in Podgorica

To visit Podgorica and not walk over its bridges over Morača, Zeta and Ribnica is a great loss, as these bridges offer wonderful views of the city and its beautiful nature. Podgorica’s bridges have been sung about in numerous folk songs. The Morača flows through Podgorica and you can see the whole city by simply checking out all of the city’s bridges.

The most significant bridges in Podgorica are: the stone bridge in Sastavci (where the Ribnica and the Morača meet), which is also called “Podgorica’s Bridge of Sighs”, a place which offers one of the most beautiful sunset views in the city. Vezirov Bridge, built in the 14th century, once the only bridge in Podgorica. The Bridge of Blažo Jovanović, The Union Bridge, as well as the famous Milenijum Bridge- one of the most famous symbols of Podgorica, which can be seen in every picture of Podgorica online, as well as on postcards.
