The transport regulated by the city public transport in Maribor is called Maripro. It was founded on June 21, 2011 with the aim of providing safe and comfortable transportation to the citizens and visitors of this beautiful city. It has 21 lines. Mariprom includes bus lines, public parking lots, the Pohorska cable car, the main bus station. If you buy a ticket from the driver, it costs 2.00 euros, if you buy it before entering the bus (at newsagents), the ticket for one trip costs 0.80 cents. Day ticket for one person is 3.00 eur.
The main bus station has bus lines to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and eight other European cities. It is 1 km away from the city center, or about 15 minutes on foot. Within the bus station, you have an ATM, a restaurant, a cafe, a place to store your suitcases, and a currency exchange. There are also accommodation facilities, hotels and motels near the station.
Maribor also has its own airport, which is 29 km from the city.
2. Maribor oversees 4 parking lots (Rokušev Square, Loška Street, Mlinska Street and Sodna Street) with a total of 437 parking spaces. Parking in their parking lots is paid every working day from 06:00 to 22:00. The price of parking in these zones is EUR 1.00 per hour.
Also, the white zones are supervised by Mariprom and include 2000 parking spaces. They are charged on weekdays from 08:00 to 19:00. You can buy a ticket by phone, SMS to the phone number 0038631209020 or through an application called EasyPark, available on iOS and Android devices.
Depending on the zones marked with the codes 311, 312 and 313 from 08:00h to 19:00h the price per hour is 1.50eur, 0.80eur and 0.50eur.
On the signs standing in the immediate vicinity of the parking space, you have indicated and explained which zone it is and how you can pay for your parking space. There are also parking machines where you can buy a parking ticket.
If you do not pay the ticket on time, you will receive a notification that you have to pay the daily ticket in the amount of 16.50 eur. You have the right to pay within 8 days, and if you don't do it, Mariprom sends it to the inter-municipal inspector. Fines are over 100.00eur.
