The Museum of Photography (Fotografiska). If you are a photography aficionado, you will find your new favourite place in the heart of Stockholm. The Fotografiska Musuem is dedicated to contemporary photography, and it represents one of the largest places for such exhibitions in the world. There are 4 big and around 20 smaller exhibitions during the year. It expands on 2.500 m2. In the facility, there is a café with a beautiful view of Stockholm, a restaurant, a gallery, and a souvenir shop. This place will stir you up with both the exhibitions, but with the magical view of the city that resembles a postcard as well. To drink coffee in a café and enjoy the view of Stockholm is a unique experience.

The Museum of Modern Art (Moderna Musset) was opened in 1958 on Skeppsholmen island. There you will come across remarkable works of arts of famous 20th century artists. The building was renovated in 1994 following the idea design of the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo. It was presented to public in 1998. It has over 130 thousand impressive works of art. The exhibitions are divided in 3 categories: the present, the future, and the new age. The future represents the works from 1940 to 1970, while the new age represents the works from 1900 to 1940.

The Museum of Technology

For all technology fans, the Museum of Technology will be a huge temptation for visiting. The main “Experiment your way to smart ideas” exhibit is only one of many. The museum is interactive and it offers you an opportunity to create your own virtual sculptures, to play telepathically play the music, and numerous other activities that reinforce your mind. It is the largest museum of technology in Sweden, and it expands on 10.000 m2. In the archive, there are more 1.200 shelves with documents, among which there are 200.000 maps and drawings, and over a million of paintings and photos. Saved letters, newspaper cuttings, audio recordings, movies, books, technological and industrial development in Sweden – everything is saved from history and displayed in this museum.

The Toy Museum

The Toy Museum

The Toy Museum is fantastic for family visits! It is a museum that every child would like, but you as well if there is still a child in you. It was opened in September 2017, and it was previously known as Bergrummet. It is very inspiring for all generations, it is fun and amusing. With over 40.000 toys and comics, it represents the largest collection of the kind in Northern Europe. You will find there an action figures collection, dolls, tin figures, comic books, authentic sketches and a lot of other activities for children. It expands on over 2.500 m2 , which means that there is more than enough space for the little ones to play and enjoy.

The National Museum

The National Museum

The National Museum of Fine Arts (Nationalmuseum) in Stockholm is a perfect corner for all enthusiasts of visual art and design! It is located in central Stockholm, on the peninsula Blasieholmen, across the Royal Palace. It was founded in 1792 as the Royal Museum, but in needed a new facility after a while. The present building was opened in 1866, built between 1844 and 1866 when the Riksdag financed what was then the most expensive project. When the building was completed in 1863, a total of 427 drawings were submitted to the Office of the Supervisor of Public Buildings – 270 blueprints and 157 decoration sketches. The building is inspired by renaissance architecture. It was designed by German architect Friedrich August Stüler.
