The Royal Coin Cabinet

Here you will find out where the history of money begins! In downtown Stockholm, in Gamla Stan, the Royal Coin Cabinet museum used to be located there. It is dedicated to money and other means of paying, the history of finance, the economic and social history. This is one of the oldest Swedish museums. It houses collections from the 1570s, and the exhibitions contains 650.000 items from all over the world. The largest and the most important part of collection consists of coins and medals.

The Hallwyl Museum is a story about a rich couple, Count Walther and Countess Wilhelmina von Hallwyl. It is located in the very center of Stockholm, and it arouses enthusiasm in each visitor. This could be one of the most interesting and most popular museums in Stockholm. A museum with no budget limit during the construction is for sure worth visiting. It was built between 1893 and 1898, a it was designed by the Swedish architect Isak Gustaf Clason. He also designed the Nordic Museum. The Hallwyl couple wanted a winter house built according to their specific details. Wilhelmina needed enough space for her art collections she had gathered while travelling the world in order to open a museum, and Walther needed an office wing from where he could manage the family businesses.

The Sven-Harry Art museum

The Sven-Harry Art museum

This is combination of classical and contemporary art in one place. The Sven-Harry’s Art Museum was founded by Swedish builder Sven-Harry Karlsson. It is located in the center of Stockholm, and the building’s appearance is fascinating. It was designed by Gert Wingårdh and Anna Höglund of Wingårdh Architects. The golden colour of the building is copper-aluminium-zinc alloy that does not darken when exposed to oxygen. One of the installations that attracts the most attention is the replica of Sven-Harry’s former house on the roof. The balcony on the roof with sculptures gives a magical panorama view of Vasastan.
