The Women Handcraft Center and Umm Al Emarat park – enter the Women Handcraft Center, government initiative to support local women in nurturing Bedouin crafts, such as weaving palm trees. Sadu tapestries and rugs production and weaving Telli plaits are the most popular crafts, but they are dying out.
Visitors have a rare opportunity to meet custodians of local heritage in their traditional light. Buy souvenirs made by women, or get a traditional temporary tattoo on your arm. Women, men and children are all welcome.
After visiting the center, quickly go to the surprisingly lush green sanctuary – Umm Al Emarat park. Take a walk on beautiful pathways edged with palm trees, or take your kids to a stable with animals. The park includes art venues, botanical gardens, amusement parks, as well as vans with food and drinks.
