In the village Gostilje on the Zlatibor Mountain there is a beautiful 20 meters high waterfall. All addicts of untouched nature and its beauty should visit this waterfall that is located just 25 kilometers away from the Zlatibor town. In the same village there is also the house of Dimitrije Tucović which was transformed into a museum.
If you decide to visit the Zlatibor Mountain, do not just stay in the Zlatibor town, remember that there are numerous nearby places that will surprise you with their beauty and uniqueness. One of these places is certainly the village Gostilje, located on the slopes of the mountain Čigota. The village is surrounded by forests and pastures which will make the ride from the Zlatibor town unforgettable (25 kilometers ride). Here you will find the unique 20 meters high waterfall Gostilje. When walking on the accessible path, visitors will also be able to follow the flow of the stream Vrelo and also see a few smaller waterfalls and enjoy pristine nature.
The village is also famous for the house of Dimitrije Tucović, a prominent theoretician and the leader of worker’s national social movement. Dimitrije was killed in the battle of Kolubara in 1914. During the First World War, in this battle Serbian troops under the leadership of Vojvoda Živojin Mišić managed to fend off the enemy attack (Austrian-Hungarian forces), capture around 40.000 enemy soldiers and force Austro-Hungarian forces back across the river Drina to Bosnia.
The house in which Dimitrije was born was renovated during the 50s after which it was turned into a museum.
