Ruth Benzacar Galería de Arte was founded by Ruth Benzacar in 1965. Her family was experiencing financial difficulties at the time, so Ruth decided to convert their house into an impressive gallery. Even though the gallery wasn’t successful on the onset, it soon became a popular place. Today, the gallery is famous for its displays of artwork done by renowned artists and prodigies. It is now run by Ruth Benzacar’s daughter and grandson. Even though it doesn’t display artwork belonging to just one artistic movement, it is home to many contemporary art pieces, sculptures and photographs.

Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Art Collection – This rich collection is owned by the most famous woman of Argentina, Amalia Lacroze. The museum building is located near to the Puerto Madera, and was opened in 2008. The building was made out of glass in a futuristic style. The collection consists of 240 pieces of art, completed by both Argentine and European artists. You will be given a unique chance to witness the artwork of Dali, Rodin, Chagall and many more. Particularly interesting is the portrait of the founder of the collection done by Andy Warhol. Not many people can say that such a famous artist painted their portraits.

Xul Solar Museum – Xul Solar, born Oscar Agustín Alejandro Schulz Solar, was an Argentine painter, sculptor, writer and inventor of languages. His pseudonym actually means “sun light”. Solar’s artwork mostly consists of sculptures characteristic for their sharp contrasts and bright colors, often done in smaller formats. His visual style is somewhere between Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee on the one hand, and Marc Chagall on the other.

The Evita Peron Museum

The Evita Peron Museum – Delve into the life of Argentina’s most beloved people of all time. The museum was officially opened in 2002, on the 50th anniversary of the death of Evita Perón, who was the wife of former Argentine president Juan Perón, and the First Lady between 1946 and 1952. The museum contains the biggest collection of Evita Perón’s dresses, letters and other personal belongings. The building itself is called Casa Carabassa, and it was constructed in the 20th century. The headquarters of the Evita Perón Foundation used to be hosued within the buildings, which was a humanitarian organization established by Evita and her husband. During the 1950s, the building served as a shelter for women and children in need. Evita and her husband were patrons of the poor and were literally adored by the working class.
