Sights of Mostar

MUSLIBEGOVIĆ HOUSE - It was built 300 years ago and is one of the most beautiful houses from the Ottoman period. In the center of the house there is a garden and what sets it apart from the others is that it is divided into a part for men and a part for women. In the house you can find old works of art, embroideries, objects, some souvenirs from that period of the 18th century. The house gives a touch of wealth and represents the power and insight into the way of life of the once wealthy Bey family in that century. Entrance and tour of the house cost 4KM (2 €). In addition, its visitors can consume traditional food and drinks. One part of the house offers the possibility of spending the night.

The house of Svetozar Ćorović

The birth house of Svetozara Ćorović, the most important novelist in Herzegovina, was built in 1874 in a particularly Neo-Renaissance style. Aleksa Šantić spent the last years of his life in this house. The memorial room of Šantić in this house is dedicated to the life and work of the Bosnian writer. In the room there are numerous author's literary works, objects from his private life as well as his desk where many works were created. The house also hides a corner dedicated to the Mostar writer Hamza Humi. Library with selected works, collection of Šantić's works, manuscripts and letters.

The Nesuh-Aga Vucjakovic Mosque

The Nesuh-aga Vučjaković Mosque or the Lipo Mosque is located on the left bank of the Neretva in Mostar. Its founder is Nesuh aga Vucjakovic. In 1559 he was the dizdar of the Ljubuški fortress. The mosque was built in 1564, and in 1941 it was closed and turned into a warehouse, which was abandoned very quickly. It was built in the Ottoman old Constantinople style, which is distinguished by a one-room prayer space with a dome, an external porch and a slender minaret leaning against the right building.
