The Golden Cape Forest Park or "Punta Corrente" as the citizens call it is a real vegetation oasis and is one of the most important natural attractions in Rovinj. The park spreads over 80 hectares of belt along the coast, with the most diverse examples of pines, firs, cypresses and cheddars that are very special and specific.Zlatni rt is the right place for various sports activities, while the old quarry has been turned into a real little paradise for lovers of free climbing. The park is also perfect for pleasant or romantic walks. Most importantly this whole area is closed to motor vehicles so it can be fully enjoyed.
Most of the beaches on Zlatni Rt are bathing beaches. As on the rest of this part of the coast, here you can find rocky beaches with a little harder access to the sea, but also several pebble coves that are very suitable for children. At several locations along the coast you can find beach bars where you can relax and refresh.
What is very interesting about this place is its origin. At the end of the 19th century, Georg Hütterott bought four islands of the Rovinj archipelago, namely Sv. Andrija, Maškin, Šturag and Sv. Ivan. He started arranging 80 hectares of the cape area, and his goal was to build a climatic health resort.
