There are a few options how to arrive to Milan city center from Malpensa airport. You have a choice between Malpensa Express train, a bus to the Central or Cadorna station and a taxi is at your disposal as well.
Option 1:
The first one is to catch a train. Here you can choose if you would like to catch a train from Malpensa Airport to Central Station or Cadorna Train Station. A train you need to catch is Malpensa Express.
Both, Cadorna and Central Station have metro access (Cadorna – green metro line MM2 and Central Station – yellow line, MM3) and both have taxi stops in front.
Both are very close to the city center, only 3 metro stops to Duomo Square.
Train ticket price for the Malpensa Express is 13 Euros (€) one direction. Ticket price is the same for Central Station or Cadorna Train Station.
The difference is that from Malpensa to Cadorna you will travel approx. 40 min and from Malpensa to Central Station you will travel approx. 55 min. There are more stops when you catch the train to Central Station.
Option 2:
The second option is to catch the bus. Bus stops at both terminals and there are several companies that operate on this route.
Keep in mind that the bus will take you only to Central Station.
The bus ticket price from the Malpensa Airport is 8 Euros (€). You may ask to buy the return ticket, as it will cost you 14 €.
The journey lasts from 50 min to 1h depending on the traffic.
Option 3:
You can catch a taxi as well. The price is 90 €.
There are taxis in front of both terminals so you can take one directly there.
(!) There is no need for visitors to buy their tickets in advance, online or through agencies, because they can buy the tickets directly at the airport. For the train tickets, they will find Malpensa Express office before the stairs where they should catch the train.
For the bus tickets – they can buy them directly from the bus driver.
From Central Station to Malpensa airport
There are three options to arrive from Milan Central Station to Malpensa Airport.
Option 1:
Visitors can take a train. The ticket costs 13 eura (€) one direction. The train stops at both terminals and the journey lasts approx. 55 min.
Option 2:
Visitors can take a bus. Ticket price is 8 Euros (€), one direction. Bus stops at both terminals and the journey lasts approx. 50 min to 1h, depending on the traffic.
Option 3:
One may take a taxi from Central Station. It costs 90 eura (€), one direction.
From Cadorna train station to Malpensa Airport
There are two options from Cadorna train station to Malpensa airport
Option 1:
Visitors can take a train. The ticket costs 13 Euros (€) in one direction. The train stops at both terminals and the journey lasts approx. 40 min.
Option 2:
One may take a taxi from Central Station. It costs 90 Euros (€) in one direction.
(!) There is no need that visitors buy their tickets in advance, on line or through agencies, because they can buy the tickets directly at the train station or in a bus. For the train tickets, they can find Malpensa Express office or they can buy them using the ticket machines.
For bus tickets – visitors can buy tickets directly from the bus driver.
