Boka Kotorska:

Stoliv

Stoliv

STOLIV is another fishermen village. It is located at the end of Vrmac peninsula. If visitors take a look at the map, they will find Stoliv on the opposite side of Perast. Stoliv is the least sunny spot in Bokokotorska bay, which is why Camellia, a flower that poorly tolerates strong and direct sun, blooms there. The "Camellia Days" festival is held in Stoliv every year in April.

According to legend, in 1870, for the love of his wife, a seaman brought from faraway Japan seedlings of this beautiful flower and so camellia remained to bloom only in Stoliv even today. Each year, one of the women from Boka, who worked hard to maintain and promote cultural heritage of this area, is given a title "Lady of Camellia".

Along the coast there are numerous small beaches, bars and restaurants, taverns and apartments.
