The Bridge at Đurđevića Tara is an architectural marvel and a famous tourist attraction. The bridge is located between Mojkovac, Žabljak and Pljevlja, over the Tara river canyon. The bridge gets its name thanks to a farm which was once located just next to the spot where the bridge stands. The bridge itself was constructed between 1937 and 1940 and it was designed by architect Mijat Trojanović, and built by engineer Isak Ruso. The bridge contains 5 arches which are in total 365 meters long.
The bridge’s height, measured from the bottom of the Tara canyon, is around 172 meters. When it was constructed, this marvel was the largest arched concrete bridge in Europe which could be crossed by car. Near the bridge, several restaurants offer visitors a chance to relax and enjoy the view, as well as to purchase souvenirs at the nearby stores.
There is a zip-line available at the spot for true adventure lovers, which will allow you to cross the canyon for a mere €10, a trip that takes only 6 seconds. In addition to the zip line, bungee jumping is also available.
