St Tripun festivities

The TRIPUN DAY FESTIVAL is one of the most important events for the locals, which starts at the end of January and lasts until the first days of February. This tradition, when citizens of Kotor celebrate their patron saint (Saint Tripun), was first created in the 11th century. This event is characterized by numerous classical music concerts. On the plateau in front of the Cathedral of Saint Trypun, you can enjoy watching the Boka's Navy dance as well as the procession with relics that are carried through the old town. Here it is possible to see numerous types of dances of local folklore and to listen to church choirs.
Since the cult of Saint Tryphon has been revered to this day, many citizens of Kotor are coming to this event to honor the saint protector of their city and to adorn the saint's relics which are located in the Cathedral of Saint Tripun.
Attending this event is free of charge.
