Holmenkollen Ski Museum

For fans of skiing and overall great atmosphere, the Holmenkollen Ski Festival, also known as Holmenkollen FIS World Cup, is the perfect choice. It is held every March in Holmenkollen in Oslo, around ten kilometers away from the city center. Ski jumping events are held in categories for men and women for a whole week at the Holmenkollen Arena.

The festival is popular not only in Norway, but elsewhere as well, and if you are a fan of winter and snow, make sure you mark it on your list of reason for visiting Norway.

  • There is a museum dedicated to the history of skiing beneath the ski piste;
  • The first Holmenkollen Ski Festival was held in 1892;
  • Holmenkollen hosted the 2011 Slalom and Skiing FIS World Cup;
  • Holmenkollen was the host of world championships in 1930, 1966 and 1982, and was also the host of slalom skiing championships during the Winter Olympics of 1952.
