Oslo World Music Festival

Considered one of the leading music festivals in Europe, Oslo World Music Festival focuses primarily on contemporary music, taking particular interest in musical genres coming from Africa, South America, Asia and the Near East. The first festival was held in 1994, and has been held in the center of oslo every year for six days, characteristic by the genre diversity it welcomes. The festival itself is part of many events and organizations in Oslo during the whole year, such as “Our Neighborhood”, a project that met immigrants and local communities to share music, cultures and food, and from 2013 onward its staff has participated in organizing the Beirut & Beyond Festival in Lebanon, which is responsible for the Day of Childrens’ Art Exploration, as well as events during the Oslo music festival, mostly tour activities.
