Lisbon:

The Augusta Street

The Augusta Street

Rua Augusta is a wide street, the main promenade in Lisbon that will satisfy all your shopping needs. It stretches from Praca Rossio to Praca do Commercio and the river. Along this street there are mostly various shops, boutiques, gift shops, relaxed bars, restaurants with a good atmosphere and a nice ambience. Many bars are outdoors, and they have heaters outside in the winter.

The pedestrian zone is paved with a traditional Portuguese sidewalk, the mosaic with black and white tiles, which is one of the main symbols of Lisbon. You will encounter street performances along the street and it is certain that you will take the time to watch them and reward them with applause. The guys who perform with the ball are especially fun.

There are mostly international brands, so you will find boutiques like Mango, Zara, H&M, Pull & Bear, Tipographia (Lisbon brand with very original designs), Sapataria Lord, for fabrics you should visit London Hall, and for bags we recommend Casa Canada, and there are many other stores of lesser-known brands that offer quality and diverse products.

Of course, this is a street where you will also find suitable souvenirs to keep as a memory or as a gift.

Rua Augusta is considered a commerce street, a street where shopping and enjoyment combine. While taking a break from walking and shopping, be sure to take the time to try the traditional Pastel de Nata treat and other great Portuguese pastries with a glass of good Portuguese wine or a cup of their coffee. There are also shops selling local traditional products so stop by.
