The parking service in Lisbon is called EMEL and is in charge of all public parking spaces in the city. Their work is reflected in mobility and it is a municipal company. The price of parking depends on the part of the city or zone. There is also a restriction on parking in the city center. It is possible to buy a ticket for a parking space on parking machines, only metal money comes into consideration. You put the card in the car in a visible place. You can also buy a ticket through the App Epark app.
There are three zones, red, yellow and green. The price for the red zone is € 1.60 for one hour, and it is allowed to stay in the parking lot for two hours. The yellow zone is charged € 1.20 per hour and the time limit is four hours. The green zone is the most favorable and amounts to € 0.80 and also the maximum retention of vehicles in the parking lot is four hours.
Generally, parking is charged from 08:00 to 20:00, depending on the zone. In some parts of the city on Saturdays parking is paid from 08:00 to 18:00, while on Sundays and holidays parking is not charged.
In any case, before parking, check the signs for prices and to know if parking spaces are reserved for people with disabilities or for tenants of buildings.
In addition to public parking spaces, the car can be left in parking garages, of which there are many in the city. Prices vary from part of the city. In the city center prices are around € 1.80 from € 2.40 per hour. Also, there is a daily ticket option and they range from € 10 to € 45.
