Ljubljana Jazz Festival

The Ljubljana Jazz Festival is held every year at the end of June for the last 60 years. This event with a long tradition occupies an honorable place as the oldest musical event of its kind in Europe. The festival consists of about 15 jazz music programs and concerts, where the emphasis on the style of jazz music is placed on the avant-garde and "free jazz". The festival was founded in 1960, and during all this time it has gathered a large number of the greatest jazz names from around the world. When the festival was founded, the Big Band of RTV Slovenia was then formed, which is one of the most famous bands from Yugoslavia that played beautiful jazz.

In addition to jazz musicians, pop musicians began to appear at the festival over time, so today the jazz festival is actually a music festival that combines many other melodies with jazz, which is primary. Bled hosted the festival for the first 6 years, and since 1967, the festival has moved to the open-air capital, in Križanske, where it is still held today.

Initially a Yugoslav, today an international jazz festival is an event with a rich tradition aimed at spreading musical awareness and enjoying music, because music is listened to.

Time of event: End of June. On the website http://www.ljubljanajazz.si/ you can reserve your place at the festival, buy a ticket and get additional information.
