Parking in Madrid, when we talk about the city center, is divided into two zones, blue and green. And the prices in these zones are from Monday to Friday from 09:00 - 20:00 €2.70 for 2 hours. On Saturdays, parking is charged from 09:00 to 15:00 at the same price as on weekdays. On Sundays, parking is free in some places, and in green areas you can park for no longer than an hour and the price is then 2.05 euros.
When it comes to parking that you don’t have to pay during all days, it is only possible on the outskirts of the city, and then you can use some public transport. Free parking on the outskirts of Madrid is a great thing. There are three such car parks, and to use them for free you must have a public transport ticket. Free parking is available on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 21:30, for a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 16 hours.
There are garages and large parking lots in the city center that give you the opportunity to leave the car for a longer period of time. And then the price is 2.35-2.95 €/hour, and day tickets are up to 31.00 euros. Parking on the streets is controlled and if you do not pay the ticket on time, you can get a fine. Instead of driving around the center, we definitely recommend that you opt for public transport, such as a metro, bus or taxi, get to your desired destinations relatively quickly, and don't think about parking and don't limit your time. Cars are welcome if you want to take a trip and go to a nearby place or city.
