Miami’s first skyscraper – the Courthouse. Miami is not like New York - it does not have giant skyscrapers. Low colorful buildings are characteristic for Miami. However, as construction developed, Miami started to build skyscrapers. There are not many of them, but there are enough – to be precise, there are 55 of them that are over 150 meters high. One of them is special because it is the first skyscraper in Miami. It is located downtown and it is different from modern glass skyscrapers. This skyscraper used to be Florida’s tallest building with 28 floors. Its construction began in 1925, and it was finished 3 years after. It is on West Flager Street, one of the busiest streets in the city.
