The Maribor's Island

Maribor Island or Maribor Island in Slovenian is a natural river island and a beautiful place to spend your time walking and exploring nature. It is located on the Drava River, in the immediate vicinity of the city. The value of the island is significant and it was protected as a natural heritage in 1951, and as a cultural monument in 1992. Exceptional flora and fauna make the island interesting to visit. The island is home to various animal species, including a large number of birds. More precisely, 75 species of birds live on the island. There are also 15 types of trees and 20 types of bushes. A scenic path leads to the island, along the left bank of the Drava River.

The island is extremely popular and visited especially during the summer season, when the swimming pools are open. The pool complex consists of three pools, surrounded by nature, which provides a very pleasant environment. It allows you to sunbathe, swim and enjoy the lawns located next to the pool.
