The Miami Children’s Museum was founded in 1983, and it used to expand on 2.000m2. It developed over time and changed locations, and today it expands o 56.000m2. It is located on Watson Island and it is one of the biggest children’s museum is the USA. It consists of 17 galleries, a pre-school, a kindergarten, a theatre scene and a restaurant. Each child will get interesting once they see its colorful façade. The interior of the museum is designed so that children are comfortable, have fun and imagine they are in a children's kingdom. Bright colors, interesting paintings, items, painted walls, playhouses, creative workshops, toys and the rest of the amusement and education program – it all makes this place children’s favorite.
The museum aims to awake children's desire for learning in a fun and playful way, as well as to become one of the leading institutions aimed at helping children and their parents, to enable the children to learn about themselves and cultural diversity, to get familiar with art, science and education. This place inspires children to play, it educates them, encourages their creativity, motivates them and invigorates their imagination. Both children and their parents learn how to study and create through interactive exhibitions and programs. It is very important for children’s early development and education. The Children's Museum cooperates with other children's museums and institutions that deal with the development and education of children. The museum also has programs for children with disabilities.
